Impressive late 18th century Mahogany American Chippendale slant front desk acquired from a historical property in Washington D.C. The interior is fitted with pigeonholes and drawers. One centre door opens to reveal two additional drawers and one hidden compartment drawer in the bottom position. The drop lid is one solid piece of Mahogany that has been inlayed on the pout surface with an urn. There are four graduated drawers all with banded inlay. The desk rests on Ogee style bracket feet. This item has been fully restored and French polished.

Repaired: The legs have been tightened to the cabinet. Also the cockbead trim around the perimeter of the drawers has been restored. Refinished. Replacements made: The brass pulls and escutcheons have been replaced and are not original to the cabinet. The hardware was recently installed. Wear consistent with age and use. This item was cleaned off and the finish has been recently French Polished.
