A handsome Federal style hand painted tole tinder wood box. Ebonized lacquer paint overpainted with a federal eagle holding olive branches and arrows and crested with a Union shield. The Eagle is surrounded with nautical stars above and below. The sides are hand painted with a border of vines and berries. Signed on the side by the artist A.J. Hawk.
