18th Century French Provincial Carved Oak Bonnetiere
18th Century French Provincial Carved Oak Bonnetiere
A handsome Oak hand-carved French Provincial style bookcase most likely built in the latter half of the 18th Century. The cabinet is fitted with three adjustable interior shelves. It is made of nice French quartered oak lumber. There is a working door lock with the key. There is one lower drawer that is fitted with two brass bail style pulls in the Louis XVI style. Both the upper and lower crest are ordained with carved wheat stalks. The door and center drawer have a central carved medallion. The back and sides are pinned panels also made of solid oak. The upright side columns are fluted and the entire cabinet rests on spade-style feet.
