19th Century English Mahogany Butlers Tray Table
19th Century English Mahogany Butlers Tray Table
Featured is a handsome English butlers tray mounted as a low table to four legs with an X brace leg stretcher system. Brass hardware holds in place the wings that are used as handles. These style butlers trays were invented during the 18th century, butler's trays continued to be made until comparatively recent times until, that is, people no longer went 'into service'. Now popular, because they take up only minimal storage space when 'put away'. This item has the original brass hardware that has never been broken which is common with this style of antique tables. This item is in very good condition with no visible damage to the wings or the legs. This is a classic design that is still very usable in modern spaces.
